Expert Group and Task Force Workshops
Second Expert Group Workshop on Global Value Chains
The E15 Expert Group on Global Value Chains: Development Challenges and Policy Options met for the second time on 12-13 June 2013 in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting provided the group with an overview of policy options presented by the Theme Leader, Sherry Stephenson (ICTSD). The policy options aimed to allow the WTO and its system of trade rules to move to greater relevance for the 21st century pattern of trade. The discussion were enriched by short presentations by the authors of think pieces, which were drafted on the basis of issues which emerged after the first meeting: Antoni Estevadeordal (IDB), Grant Aldonas (Splitrock International), and Patrick Low (WTO). The meeting was co-organised by ICTSD and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Attendance at this event was by invitation only.
