World Economic Forum on East Asia
On 19-21 April 2015, E15 members participated in the World Economic Forum Regional Meeting on East Asia in Jakarta, Indonesia.
E15 ideas from the Expert Groups on Regional Trade Agreements, Digital Economy, New Industrial Policy, and Services were discussed in a private session entitled “Trade & Investment Policy Options for East Asia” on 19 April from 8:30-10:00. This session, moderated by Ricardo Meléndez-Ortiz, Chief Executive of ICTSD and principal convener of the E15 Initiative, focused on the following discussion questions:
- What international reforms to trade and investment policies will most help populations in East Asia?
- How is this changing in a services age?
- How can regional agreements contribute?
- How are regional policies regarding commodities trade likely to evolve?
