Economist specialising in competition policy and economic regulation. OECD’s competition division provides analytical work for discussion at the Committee as well as advisory and assistant work to member countries and ‘outreach’ work to non-member countries. Former: Head of the Competition Division, OECD; Executive Director, Competition Commission of Mauritius; Chief Economist, United Kingdom’s Competition Commission; Consulting economist, Frontier (Europe). Established the Competition Commission of Mauritius in 2009 as its first Executive Director and led the new institution through its first year of work, investigating sectors including meat imports, insurance, travel agents, banks and telecoms.
