Second Expert Group Workshop on Industrial Policy
The E15 Expert Group on Reinvigorating Manufacturing: New Industrial Policy and the Trade System met for the second time on 4-5 December 2014 in Geneva to continue discussions from the group’s first meeting. The group reviewed a number of think pieces and background papers focused on topics including mega-regionals and new industrial policy; the use of new industrial policies to meet economic, social and environmental objectives; industrial policy flexibility in the context of the WTO dispute settlement system; green industrial policies and the WTO’s Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures; and investment and FDI promotion policies.
