Third Expert Group Workshop on Industrial Policy
The E15 Expert Group on Reinvigorating Manufacturing: New Industrial Policy and the Trade System met virtually in a videoconference for the third time on 5 August 2015. Group discussions, led by Theme Leader Harsha Vardhana Singh of ICTSD, focused on producing and validating policy options to strengthen the contribution of industrial policy to sustainable development and global trade and investment systems over the next decade. In prior meetings, the group discussed think pieces prepared by various group members focusing on best practices for industrial policy in all types of economies, from low to high income. The group is made of distinguished experts from academia, international governmental organisations, and business.
