Former: Senior Counsellor in the Services Division, WTO; Secretary, WTO Council for Trade in Services; Assistant to the Deputy Director-General, GATT; Legal advisor, GATT dispute settlement; Representative of Egypt to the GATT; Trade policy advisor to the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade of Egypt; Commercial attaché of the Egyptian Embassy in Canberra; Egypt’s representative to the United Nations Economic commission for Africa in Addis Ababa. During the Uruguay Round negotiations was responsible for legal matters relating to the drafting of the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS).
