International policy specialist with more than 18 years’ experience in the agri-food sector in both Europe and Asia. Respected adviser and spokesperson for the food industry and a leading expert on policy developments that relate to regulatory harmonisation, food safety standards and the complex dual burden of under-nutrition and obesity. Former: Executive Director, Food Industry Asia (FIA). Held regional roles with leading companies, including Kellogg’s, Syngenta and the British Agriculture Bureau. Has led many noteworthy projects, including the development of self-regulatory codes on food labelling in Europe and Asia and the introduction of a pan-Asia food safety surveillance network and fast-response unit for the food industry.
