Guillermo Valles Galmés
Director of the Division on International Trade in Goods and Services, and Commodities, UNCTAD. Career diplomat with over 35 years of professional experience. Former: Ambassador to China, the European Union, Belgium, Luxembourg and U.N. and WTO in Geneva; Deputy Foreign Minister of Uruguay, among other political posts; Lead negotiator for several regional trade agreements; Chair for Rules negotiations in WTO; Served in different posts in Japan and Argentina. Has received several decorations from governments and NGOs. Law degree, Universidad de la República, Uruguay.
