PhD in Economics, Stanford University. Professor of international business and economics, McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University; Senior Fellow, Peterson Institute for International Economics; Research Associate, National Bureau of Economic Research. Researches the relationship between international trade and investment and firm performance. Recent work examines the relationship between increasing import competition on U.S. manufacturers and the impact of trade in services on the U.S. economy. Former: Deputy Director, Peterson Institute; Director, Center for Economic Studies at the U.S. Census Bureau; Faculty member, Carnegie Mellon University; Visiting professor, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Has been published extensively in scholarly journals and cited in popular press publications.
