Specialist on the empirical and policy analysis of international trade, especially in developing countries, and has also studied migration and economic growth. Former: Chief Economist, Department for International Development (DFID); Research Manager, World Bank. Has edited publications including the World Trade Review. Appointed Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the 2012 Birthday Honours.
