Advisor, European Political Strategy Centre – European Commission; Associate Professor, Université Libre de Bruxelles. Former Research Fellow, Bruegel. Focuses on European competition policy and regulation issues. Former: Member of the Chief Economist Team, DG-Competition, European Commission. Developed the economic analysis of a number of topical Antitrust and Merger cases such as Qualcomm, oneworld and Star alliances, ebooks, KLM/Martinair, Newscorp/BSkyB, UPM/Myllykoski. Participated in the drafting of the new European Guidelines for the application of Art.101 TFEU to Horizontal Cooperation Agreements. Has published or been quoted in leading international media, such as the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, La Tribune, Project Syndicate, Vox, Les Echos, De Standaard, Handelsblatt and others. Ph.D. in Industrial Organization, European University Institute; M.Sc. in Economics, CORIPE.
