Senior Development Economist, ICTSD. Former: Principal Research Economist in the Development Research Department, African Development Bank; Senior lecturer and Head of the Department of Economics and Statistics, University of Mauritius; Economist, Ministry of Economic Planning and Development, Mauritius; Research assistant, Center for International Development at Harvard University. Has received a number of research grants from organizations such as the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) and the World Bank Institute. Has authored several reports commissioned by the AERC, the UN Economic Commission for Africa, UNDP, and the World Bank, among others. Has researched and published extensively in the area of international trade. MSc and PhD in international economics, Brandeis University (Fulbright scholar).
