PhD in Economics, Nankai University; Postgraduate degree, University of Adelaide. Counsellor in the Market Access Division, World Trade Organization (WTO); Visiting professor. Responsible for market access related issues in the area of manufactured goods. Former: Senior advisor to DG Pascal Lamy, WTO; Negotiator for China’s accession to the WTO, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of China; Trade diplomat, Chinese Mission to the UN and the WTO; Director of Government Affairs, American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham-China). Has extensive experience in international trade policy making, as well as in the area of the political economy of the multilateral trading system.
